When arriving on Eigg, most photographers will make a beeline for the Bay of Laig - which is where all these images were taken. It features a remarkable variety of rock formations. the result of sedimentary, volcanic and glacial activity. The striking shades of red are complimented by the green seaweed.


Of particular note are 'concretions' - where minerals have filled spaces created within the sediment. Examples can be seen in the distance in the first image, and a strikingly massive example in the third.
